We are a non-profit organization based in Madison, Indiana on the Ohio River approximately 50 miles southwest of Cincinnati, Ohio. We operate as a project committee of the Historic Hoosier Hills RC & D and as such are afforded full not-for-profit status on both the state and national levels.
We are completely volunteer-operated and funded by a combination of private and corporate donations as well as grants. Our current board members are Tim & Holly Harmon, Julie White, Heidi Sage, Carri Dirksen, Carol Ann Rogers and Ryan Meyers.
Project Phoenix originated as the result of a challenge presented by pastor Bob Hicks at North Madison Christian Church called the 'Kingdom Assignment'. We were given $100 cash as a modern take on Jesus' parable of the talents from Luke 19:11-27, and simply asked to make a difference for God's Kingdom by making best use of the money.
This is our attempt to fulfill the challenge. We hope to be able to show God's love in a very practical way by helping those in our community during a time of great need. And while our core values are based on Christianity, Project Phoenix does not directly promote nor is it funding by any one particular church or religious organization. We believe God's love is best shown by helping our neighbors.
